U23D

Last week I got to see a early screening of U23D in Beverly Hills. It is a must see for U2 fans...which on a scale from 1-10 I am about a 5 and I still really enjoyed it. U2 filmed a concert in Buenos Aires using 3D video technology and they made it into this film. It is opening in select IMAX theaters (Orange County & LA) this week and in February it will open nationwide.

Hereford, Texas on the "Today" show

My next door neighbor back in Hereford, Clint, was featured on the "Today" show on NBC. This video shows some pretty good footage of Hereford. Check it out.

"There's someone for everyone"

We've all heard it said, "There's someone for everyone."

Well, the Internet is doing its part to make that dream a reality for so many.

Another First

We did it! Megan and I successfully completed my first and her 9th half marathon.

Tips for next time (because there will be a next time):

- Take a laxative or coat my stomach with Pepto beforehand. (I had some scares near the end)

- Never run without a partner. We stayed together the whole time and it would have sucked if we hadn't.

- Must have people at the finish line again. That made it all worth it.

- Maybe run for a cause. (AIDS or cancer or rabies)

- More Maroon 5 on my Shuffle.

The best things about this run was getting to do it with someone who pushed me harder that I thought I could go. I had a blast. Thanks, Megs.

Thanks to everyone who came out and cheered us on. It made the run so much better knowing that we had something to look forward to at the finish line.

I'll post more pictures when I get them from John.

Firsts

In life we all have many "firsts." As a designer I had a first a few weeks ago. I was walking around the Irvine Spectrum and I saw a surfing DVD that I designed a few months ago for a company in San Clemente. It was the most weird feeling to see it sitting behind glass for sale.

Here's to many more firsts!

Build-a-Bear

After much deliberation, Molly and I decided to go in together and get the Baker kids Build-a-Bears for Christmas. Brad and Carrie let Molly and I take the kids out to build their bears. Here are some of the highlights of the day.

Molly and I helped the kids pick out their animals and get them stuffed. It's kind of a violent process watching these animal carcasses get stuffed with this tube thing with cotton. Look at that poor poodle.

Liv gives her poddle a bath before picking out clothes.

Jack named his fireman monkey "Simon."

Liv is proud to introduce "Poodle Dog."

And the animals are complete!

We had such a rad day. The kids loved the animals. I also had an added bonus. For the first time I got a taste of what it is like to be seen with kids, strap them in car seats, take them to a restaurant, feed them, take them to the public bathroom (to go #1 and #2), etc. It was weird how cool it felt to do things with kids. Maybe one day I'll know what it's like for real. There's a few things that need to happen before I have kids though.
